Hello and thanks for visiting Matthew Burfield Photography. I mainly cover Hampshire, the South of England and London although occasionally I also shoot further afield.
A bit about me. I'm lucky enough to live in a beautiful 18th century cottage in Braishfield, a small village in Hampshire. I have four fantastic children - three daughters and a son.
I have taken pictures for most of my life. These days I own and use digital Nikon cameras and Nikkor lenses and a Fuji XT-1 although I learned my trade on old school film cameras - 35mm and 120 format.
I love taking pictures, but in particular I love photographing people. Getting to know such a variety of people is a lot of fun - the conversations, stories, laughter, a little banter.
I shoot weddings, formal portraits, family and lifestyle portraits, models' portfolio updates, head shots and boudoir - take your pick!
As a much younger person I travelled the world playing trumpet, cornet and singing. I've been the guest of the USSR (as was) at a Bolshoi ballet in the Kremlin Theatre, Moscow; I've sung to President Reagan in the Russel Rotunda; HM Queen Mother and Vera Lynn at St James' Palace (at the same time!) and a packed stadium in Washington DC before a Washington Capitals ice-hockey game. I've been told to get my hands out of my pockets by a scary guard in the former East Berlin and been too merry on Pertsovka in the middle of the then communist Moscow - scarier still!
I would love to hear from you - give me a call on 07747 004779 or email using the contact page.
